A Haunted House In a Suburb of the Eastside of Seattle

A few years ago, I had the honor of contributing to a truly transformative organizing project. It was a massive team effort that went far beyond decluttering—it involved emotional healing, physical labor, and spiritual restoration. I stayed in touch with my client, and when I asked if I could share the story on my blog, he generously offered to write a post himself.
Here’s his account of the experience:
“It took 14 people and over two years but this house clean up and organization project successfully happened! Jean was a valuable part of the team, especially her clearing work with crystals! The house has remained organized and clutter free for over a year. The journey began with intervention by several gifted psychics and reiki/energy workers. Not only was there immense hoarding clutter but also poltergeist activity. Boxes flew off shelves on their own, and I was physically shoved repeatedly by unseen forces. A spirit of fear and dread was suddenly present in the house at random intervals. All of this activity calmed down and resolved bit by bit as the work began. One psychic remarked that there were “ghosts hiding in the clutter” and that they would start to leave one by one as the clutter was cleared. Seemingly this or something like it was true. I did crystal grids, saged regularly, used blessed oil, water and salt and spent many hours, carefully and respectfully performing other rituals and blessings I was taught by an expert. I also learned not to engage in rituals without training through some humbling mistakes. I recommend getting expert advice before engaging in any rituals etc!
I am a reiki master myself and a psychic medium…This experience developed my gifts and gave me trial by fire training and empathy. I was later able to work with a team to help two other families resolve/diminish hauntings in their spaces.
Once the spiritual dimensions started to heal, the project progressed to physically clearing the items. There was brute physical work with many decisions about what to keep, throw out/recycle and give away. It helped to have a dumpster in the driveway at first. The garage was the first area to clear so that there was a staging and sorting area.
The middle of the process involved more sorting and donating…then came organizing to avoid future clutter. Several organizers helped including Jean. My parents had to live elsewhere during the process but they would visit. During a visit my mother not knowing Jean’s company name, literally commented that the house “sparkled” after Jean was there. I told Jean this and of course she loved hearing it! The house process ended with steam cleaning carpets and high powered vacuuming of furniture due to large amounts of dust. We also had a company vacuum the duct work and a maid service do a deep clean of the entire house. Jean’s contact list helped me find people to do all of this. Finally, a contractor who became a good personal friend, installed grab bars in the bathrooms and the hallways for safety due to my parents mobility issues.
I never thought the house could be restored to its original glory of its build date in 1987 the way it has been. But love wins over fear and team of warriors prevails over trying to fight battles alone. The house has been completely transformed and my parents are quite happy there! Change is possible if you are open to help. You are only as sick as your secrets! I remember Jean recommended keeping the blinds open at all times to let in the light, she was right!”
